A Better Way of Learning

We employ a diverse range of curricula, texts, novels, units, and experiences to deeply engage students in their learning. Lightkeeper Academy takes a distinctive approach to education by blending homeschool-designed curricula with project-based learning. In addition to mastering core subjects, students participate in multi-disciplinary, project-based units that promote cooperative learning across various grade levels.

Central to our mission, is a focus on nurturing the whole child, equipping them with the tools needed to become successful, well-rounded members of society. Our aim is to instill grit in every student's daily mindset, fostering their courage, resolve, and strength of character. Through small class sizes and a supportive, inclusive environment, we cultivate personal drive, passion, and perseverance, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive and achieve their full potential. This is achieved through daily activities designed to reinforce virtues such as courage, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. ​​

 

To enhance learning and foster a sense of community, Lightkeeper Academy offers a range of enriching experiences both on-site and beyond. Service opportunities allow students to connect with their community, develop empathy, and understand the importance of giving back. Field trips are a key part of our curriculum, providing hands-on experiences that extend learning beyond the classroom. Students can look forward to one monthly Friday field trip and meaningful service projects throughout the year. ​​
